Lydia's Baptism

On Saturday, September 1st, 2012 we had Lydia Baptized. She was a perfect angel during the entire ceremony, not crying once!

Her older brother, on the other hand, entertained himself by running around the alter and wanting to put his hand in the Baptismal Font! Pastor Brian was so cool and said, "It's all good!" Ian kept trying to get Mommy's attention and repeatedly asked "Mommy, come up here!" We were able to move forward until he made a mad dash for the piano. Luckily, Grandma Olson was able to snatch him up before he hit the keys!
Auntie Sara and Uncle Jon agreed to serve as Lydia's sponsors.

Our family picture after the event. Ian is still a little upset about
not being able to play the piano for everyone.
Proud Papa and NeNe.
 Proud Grandma and Grandpa
The Four Generations photo. Lydia's dress was made
 from Grandma Betty's wedding dress.
Ian loved the candy we had on the tables for Lydia's Baptism lunch.
Here, I "caught" him eating them and he gave me his "I'm sorry" look...
Mommy loved Lydia's cake! It not only looked great, it tasted great too!

Here is a photo of all the Olson cousins. Lydia looks way too grown up!

Lydia loves to play peek-a-boo with her bibs. She'll pull it over her head and then wait (not very patiently) for you to pull it down. Then you get rewarded with a big smile!

We started rice cereal last week, and here is a photo of Lydia when she's done! She LOVES it, but then gets very sleepy. She's about to fall asleep in this photo.
My baby girl is growing way too fast. She's already 5 months old. Can someone tell me how to stop time?

Growing Too Fast!

Lydia turned 4 months old this week!   Here she is trying out the bumbo seat with Ian helping to make sure she doesn't fall...

Ian's love for Lydia seems to grow each day. He likes her to lay next to him and then he will lean over and give her hugs. Sometimes he wants to hold her, all by himself of course, which can get a little tricky. Overall, he's very good and Lydia is so laid back that she doesn't seem to mind when he tries to pick her up!

Lydia LOVES to watch Ian. In this photo, she can't take her eyes off him!
Lydia is ticklish and loves to give Mommy and Daddy smiles. This afternoon, she was giving the smiles left and right...

And then with all the excitement, she spit up. She spits up quite a bit more than Ian did. The doctor said it's nothing to be worried about, just hard because we go through so many outfits in one day!
 My Sweetie pies cuddling...
A look ahead: I asked Ian what he wanted to be for Halloween and he replied "Um, a birthday cake!" I better start looking for that costume!

Lydia's Big Day!

Lydia had a big day today, she rolled over!
We had just gotten home and I put Lyddie on her tummy on a blanket on the floor. Ian was sitting near her having some juice and we were deciding which video he wanted to watch while Mommy made dinner.
I said to Ian, "Be careful of your sister, since she's right in front of you." Then I turned to Lydia and said "Mommy's going to get dinner going and then I"ll be right back." She gave me this look...

And the proceeded to roll to her side...
Then rested for a short bit (less than a minute)...
And then rolled all the way over...
Ian and I told Lydia what a great job she did and then had her do it two more times!
She loves to put her feet in the air and grab at her toes, which she did right after I snapped this picture.

Ian continues to be a great big brother and loves his sister dearly. Lydia will be 4 months old next week!

Great Job Lydia!

Siblings

It's been so long since my last post that I thought I'd ease into blogging again and just post a few photos this time.

At the hospital when Lydia was born, Ian was such a proud Big Brother!
Growing so fast!

It was too hot this summer -- Ian eating frozen yogurt before bed!

Ian loves to ham it up for the camera!

Lydia is already 3 months old!

Meeting Ms. Reese!

I promise, when I took this photo, they were not scared! I think they were just wide awake!

Fall 2011

So I have been a little lax in our blogging this summer and fall! Here is a recap of what Ian has been up to since mid July...

In late July, Riley and Hailey gave Ian a "cars" themed couch that he instantly loved! He not only likes to sit and read on the couch, but he likes everyone to sit on his couch! He also went through a phase of refusing to wear pants.

Charlie was a fan of the couch as well.
Ian also discovered a fun new game with Bumpa. Bumpa got a good leg workout that day!
The last weekend in July, we traveled to Davenport so Momma could run the BIX 7 Race. We stayed with Ben and Deb's family and it was so much fun! The race was a great experience and hopefully we can go back next year with Ben and Deb!

There were around 30,000 people running the race, so we don't have a good photo of Momma, so here is a photo of the bagpiper that was located near where Ian and Kurt were cheering...
Since we were so close, we went to the American Pickers shop! They were closed, but we still got a few photos. We didn't see Mike or Frank, but it was still fun to see.

In August, Ian went to the Allamakee County fair and loved the animals. I think we have a future 4-Her!

In September, Ian was a busy boy. First we celebrated with Wade, Erika, Miles and Mia at their wedding.

Here Ian is saying "CHEESE!" for the camera at Wade & Erika's wedding dinner (Momma isn't mad, just caught off guard!)

Here is Ian and Miles before the ceremony...

During the outdoor ceremony...
and the next night at the reception...

And then Ian danced the night away at the reception. He loved it! Here he's learning some new steps from Riley.

Also in September, we had Papa's 60th Birthday party! Here is Ian having pre-party fun with Papa and Avery...

Papa brought all of his tractors to the fairgrounds for everyone to ride! Here is photo of Scott and Avery... It was a great party and celebration!

And in October we went to the Pumpkin Patch! We spent time in the corn box (instead of a sand box!) Playing on the slides...

Making ghost faces...

On hay rides...
and then we spent the most time watching and feeding the goats. They had this amazing set up for these goats. They even had platforms that the goats would walk across. All three of us were amazed!

And after a long day, here's Ian riding with his pumpkins.

Now we're in planning mode for Ian's 2nd Birthday party next month!
