We celebrated Ian's First Birthday on Saturday, November 27th. We had a Farmall tractor theme and invited everyone to wear red but of course green was accepted!
Ian smiled all day and the morning after! I think his favorite part was the balloons!
Auntie Sara made the birthday cake and it tasted as good as it looked!
Ian tasted his first cupcake at his party and he seems to have a sweet tooth like his Mama and Daddy. He ate all the frosting and then the entire cupcake!
It was a big day for Ian and he needed a little nap half way through the party. Luckily Uncle Wade was available to cuddle with.
This wasn't the day of the party, but I finally caught Ian proudly displaying his age...
Happy Birthday Ian Oliver!

Happy 1st Halloween!
Prepare to see the cutest lion in the world...
Ian was a trouper for Halloween! He was a little scared of his costume at first, so we practiced wearing it up until the big night!
On Friday, we attend our Church's "Halloween Carnival" and Ian loved watching all the other kids. He had his serious face on most of the night. Mama enjoyed the cake walk...memories of Fun Day at Hawthorne Elementary School!
Then, Daddy and Ian did Plinko! On Saturday we met a very nice UPS man named Riley and a Care Bear named Hailey!
On Halloween, Ian loved watching the trick or treaters come to the door....we had 97 trick or treaters! It was definitely a Happy Halloween!

Ian's Fantastic Fall!
October has been a busy month for Ian. We went to Chicago and stayed with Auntie Jessie, Uncle Scott and Cousin Avery while Daddy went to Michigan to be apart of a friend's wedding. Here Ian is telling me a story on the drive... Here he's rockin' his new sunglasses...
During our Chicago trip, we visited Wrigley Field! It was cold (and windy of course!) but the little guys were troopers. Avery and Ian loved the press box and the locker rooms! I enjoyed being on the field.
Ian and Avery loved spending time together. Here they are sharing Avery's car. Avery was so generous with Ian...he even handed over his Woody Doll with no prompting!
Last weekend we went to a corn maze and pumpkin patch. Ian loved the corn maze! We can't quite figure out why it was so fascinating to him, but he loved walking in the corn! After we found our way out of the maze, Ian picked out a few pumpkins to take home. Here, Ian is seeing pumpkins for the first time...
He quickly decided he liked them!
Here, Ian is standing behind his pumpkins!
We loaded our pumpkins and once we got home, I had to take more photos of course...
When we wanted to get a photo of Ian, Charlie and the pumpkins, she didn't want to cooperate, but the minute we put the camera away, she sat next the pumpkins! Silly cat.
I was at a conference this week -- 2 whole nights away from my little man. Ian and Daddy had a great time and when I picked Ian up on Friday he was all smiles and hugs for me. I love you Ian!
Next post we will be unveiling Ian's Halloween costume! Stay tuned!

Catching Up with Ian
It has been a while since my last post, so I thought I would post a few recent photos of Ian.
This past weekend we were in Albert Lea and visited an alpaca farm. Ian loved watching these strange creatures and didn't want to leave!
Here are photos of Ian "hugging" his best friend Charlie....
More hugs...
and smiling for the camera!
Ian has discovered how to hug and kiss. Here I just missed Ian hugging his doll "Brian," but it's a cute photo anyway.
Can you believe our little guy is going to be 10 months old this Thursday?

Ian's First Freeborn County Fair
Two weekends ago, Ian got to experience one of his Mama's favorite summer events...the Freeborn County Fair. To make the fair even better, Ian got to experience it with his cousin Avery!
Our first stop was the kiddy barn. Ian loves kittens -- he stared at this kitten and tried to pet it like he pets Charlie.
They had a huge ostrich in the Kiddy barn and it was quite interested in Baby Ian! Ian was indifferent to the giant bird.
Ian also got to see his friend Ty!
Next, we were off to the goat barn...
Here is a goat trying to eat Ian's stroller! Next we saw the Budweiser Clydesdales...
Then we watched Avery milk a cow one handed!
When Ian is concentrating, he gets very quiet and takes it all in. I don't think Ian made a peep the entire time we were at the fair. Most of you have seen Ian's "serious face" and that was the face he had for most of the fair!
Ian had a great first fair experience and enjoyed his nap as we left the fair.
Next year Ian may be big enough for some of the rides for his 2nd annual fair experience!
